PollyX ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a browser extension that helps users discover prediction markets on Polymarket directly from Twitter/X. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

What Data We Collect

PollyX collects minimal data necessary for functionality:

1. Tweet Content (Temporary)
   • When you click "Find Markets" on a tweet, the tweet text and author username are temporarily extracted
   • This data is sent to our API proxy to analyze and find relevant prediction markets
   • Tweet content is NOT stored permanently
   • Data is only used for the immediate search request
2. Browser Storage (Local)
   • Referral slug preference (stored in your browser only)
   • Usage statistics counter (stored in your browser only)
   • Cache of recent search results (5-minute TTL, stored in your browser only)
   • No personal information is stored
3. API Requests
   • The extension makes requests to:
     • Our serverless API proxy (Vercel) for AI-powered search term extraction
     • Polymarket's public APIs for market data
   • These requests do not contain personal identifying information

What Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect your Twitter/X credentials
• We do NOT track your browsing history
• We do NOT collect personal information (name, address, phone, etc.)
• We do NOT store tweet content permanently
• We do NOT share data with third parties for advertising
• We do NOT sell your data to anyone

1. Gemini AI (via our proxy)
   • Purpose: Extract search terms from tweets
   • Data sent: Tweet text and username (temporary)
   • Privacy: Data processed through our secure proxy, not sent directly to Google

2. Polymarket Public APIs
   • Purpose: Search and display prediction markets
   • Data sent: Search queries only (no personal data)
   • Privacy: Public API, no account required

3. Dub.co (Referral Tracking)
   • Purpose: Track referral link clicks (when you click "View Market")
   • Data sent: Anonymous click data only
   • Privacy: Standard referral tracking, no personal data

Our API Proxy

• Hosted on Vercel (serverless functions)
• Does NOT log or store tweet content
• Does NOT track individual users
• Only processes requests and returns results
• Secured with API key authentication

Data Security

• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
• API keys are secured and not exposed to users
• No sensitive data is stored locally
• Cache expires automatically after 5 minutes
• No server-side user database exists

User Rights and Control

You Can

• Use the extension without creating an account
• Clear cached data by clearing browser extension storage
• Uninstall the extension at any time (removes all local data)
• Opt out by simply not using the "Find Markets" feature

Data Deletion

To delete all extension data:

1. Right-click the extension icon
2. Select "Remove from Chrome"
3. All local storage will be deleted immediately

Or clear cache without uninstalling:

1. Open extension settings
2. Click "Clear Cache"

Children's Privacy

PollyX is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Prediction markets and cryptocurrency trading require users to be 18+.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
